At ScreenQR, your privacy isn't just a feature—it's the foundation of our application. We are committed to absolute transparency regarding how our software operates on your macOS device.
ScreenQR is engineered to operate entirely offline and locally on your Mac.
We do not collect, log, save, or transmit any personal data, usage metrics, or screen contents. The application intentionally lacks network access permissions (entitlements), meaning it is technically impossible for ScreenQR to send any data to the internet.
ScreenQR requests macOS "Screen Recording" permissions for one highly specific purpose: to detect QR codes on your screen in real time.
Crucial Detail: All screen capture frames are processed instantaneously in your device's volatile memory (RAM) using Apple's native Vision framework. Once a frame is scanned for a QR code, the image data is immediately and permanently destroyed.
At no point is your screen content written to your hard drive, cached, or transmitted to any external server. The app effectively "looks" for QR codes without "remembering" what it saw.
Because we collect zero user data and our app has no capability to transmit information, we have absolutely nothing to share, sell, or disclose to any third parties whatsoever.
We retain zero data. As explained in Section 2, screen frames exist only momentarily in your Mac's active memory during the QR code detection process. No persistent files, databases, or logs containing screen content are ever created.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect new macOS features or App Store guidelines. However, our core architectural commitment—processing everything locally and never transmitting your data—will never change.
If you have any questions, concerns, or require further clarification regarding our privacy practices, our team is always ready to assist you.
